Need Original WW1 Aviation Film

Especially Nieuport 28's, and all common 1917-18 German fighters, in addition to aerodrome footage from both sides. Any source is helpful. Wiling to purchase footage if necessary. Need all the ideas I can get... thank you!

Arrow Here are some bits…

.
… of Great War aviation films:

https://imagesdefense.gouv.fr/fr/com...-aviation.html
https://imagesdefense.gouv.fr/fr/l-a...-poincare.html
https://imagesdefense.gouv.fr/fr/dan...n-picardy.html

Greg and others mentioned the links within the recent "Spad S.A.-series" thread.

The website seems to offer much more of that stuff...

Thank you, that is very helpful. I am almost finished watching every single page and every link on them. If anyone has any other leads, I will actively follow them. Thanks again!

Critical Past is a great site. That's one I'd already found and we're actually using footage from it.

Hello Stephen,

I see that you've already found Criticalpast, which has most of the US Signal Corps Films of the 94th Aero Sqn and its Nieuport 28s, plus Spads. Great stuff.

Also, this clip of bonus footage of a Fokker D.VII and Fokker Triplane flying, out-takes from the 1938 film "Pour le Merite." Not 1918 footage, but still great footage of original aircraft (not reproductions).

https://www.criticalpast.com/video/6...Page-on-ground

And yes, the "Imagesdefense" website has an enormous amount of films; one can spend many hours exploring it. Miles of footage of French Spads in action, plus Nieuports in training and in operations.

And, here is film of the French demonstrating (and flying) the captured Fokker D.VII (OAW) 2009/18 for visiting American congressmen.

https://imagesdefense.gouv.fr/fr/vis...mars-1918.html

The Imperial War Museum has some grainy footage of RAF pilots testing and flying interned Fokker D.VIIs at Nivelles, post-war.

The Bundesarchiv has this reel from the "Richthofen-Fokker Film," another copy is held by the Spielberg Holocaust memorial website. Lots of JG I Fokker D.VIIs.
