Edmond Thieffry - Oh My!

Bonjour mes amis!

By chance, I came across the following listing for a volume about Edmond Thieffry - https://www.forties-factory.com/libr...930639277.html .

Oh my! ... and it is Volume 1 ... has anyone been able to peruse a copy?
Although Willy Coppens is, understandably, the most celebrated Belgian pilot of the Great War, as anyone with an interest in the Belgian air service knows, Edmond Thieffry was and remains a pilot deserving attention.

Salut!
Kirk

I purchased a copy of this volume 1, and received it a few days ago. I thought I had put it in a Safe Place, but apparently not, because I found it.

Back in 1948 Albert Morel published a biography of Thieffry titled La Légende d'Edmond Thieffry. This volume 1 (and the forthcoming volume 2) is an edited version of Morel's book, by Charlie de la Royère. Published in the series Collection Passion Aviation by éditions pat.H. I don't have a copy of Morel's original book (it is on order). This edition by de la Royère is an oversize soft cover, smaller than A4, 176 pages, filled with photographs and documents. It covers his life to the end of the war.

When I have volume 2, and Morel's original book, I will have further comments.

Enjoy!

Frank.

Bonjour Frank!

I knew you, being the academic leading the study the aces, would obtain a copy ... thank you for the information.

Salut
