One of Fieselers victories
Hello members and guests,
In his book Gerhard Fieseler describes a victory over a certain french Lt. Sonne, an ace with 5 victories. It was probably in late 1917.
Could anyone confirm this ?

No sorry, nothing in the books I posess...knowledge on Fieseler's WW1 service is scarce.
Does your book reveal the number of Fieseler's kills in the Roland D.II ?

Hallo Michael,
at least one, his first, but I think not more, before he got an Albatros.
In July he got a Fokker D VII, wich he equipped with an diagonal fitted Lewis gun.

Oh, I never expexted a Fokker D.VII down southeast !
So, I suppose his most probable planes when scoring were
kill #1 Roland D.II
kills #2-5 Albatros D.III
kills #6-19 Fokker D.VII
Is that correct ?

Fieseler stated that in early July the Southeast Front recieves two Fokker D VII, one for him and the other for Thiede at Jasta 38.
I agree with your assumption, but probably rather the Albatros D Va than the
D III ?

Dear Detlev,
the only Albatros photo of Fieseler I have, shows him and Treptow in front of what I think is a D.III.
Can you give a date when the Albatros (any type) arrived or was available at Jasta 25 ?
Have a nice Pfingst-Sunday,
Michael

Hi,
does Fieseler mention that he scored in the Fokker D.VII immediately after receipt (kill #5) or not until the latter half of July (kill #6) ?
I found hints for the Roland D.II as well for the Albatros D.III being availabe in Spring 1918 at Jasta 25...maybe the transition took place then ?

The French ace Basile Sauné was killed by Fieseler on 20 June 1918 NE Voprecani (near Dunje).
