MvR victories
Hello all,
I recently read a statistic that I don't recall ever being discussed on the aerodrome forum (if so I apologize for covering it again). It stated that 79 of MvR's victories were against British aviators. Does anyone know the reason why vR didn't fight (or have victories) against many aviators from other nationalities? Did it have to do with the location of the units he was assigned to? Cheers, Phil |

Short answer is yes, because of where he was stationed. The odd victory is suspected to be Belgian. Before becoming a fighter pilot MvR claimed 2 unconfirmed victories against French AC, one as an observer and another as pilot.

My books in parcels
I am moving my office, also, all my books and materials are in parcels.
Also I give you this comments according my memory... It is a book "under the fire of Red Baron" ??? that give all MvR victories with all details, date, area, pilot name, plane, etc....and MvR victory report, for each victory.... 80 credited..... The first victory of MvR was against a Farman MF 11, in september 1915 ??? in Champagne, MvR was two-seat observer on Albatros ??? piloted by Lt Osteroth. The Farman fall in french area and don't received homologation, and MvR was never credited for this victory.... some days later meet Boelcke...!!!! in a restaurant.....???!!!!! My memory... |
