WWI Airfield Locations

Hi Guys.

This is my first post here in ages.

Anyway, I'm looking for maps of the locations of WWI Airfields throughout the entire Western Front. British, French, and German. I've found a Goggle map ad-don, which gives place names in Germany, but nothing for Belgium, and France. The only map I've found, was a British map of France, dated between the wars. I'm especially interested in airfields which were Front Line, and temporary, as well as permanent ones.

Pictures of any such fields would also be of great interest.

the Airfields and Airmen series by michael O'connor is a good starting point. He has published several books on the subject... not just listing the airfields, but more like a modern travel guide should you go to Europe looking for them.

Here is a link to some of them on amazon:

I saw that map a while ago, and although it's very comprehensive, it's rather confusing because of the pop up info. And the map is not clear, where the fields were.

I'd like a proper map if possible, showing just locations, and dates of activity. Squadrons and not needed at this stage.

I'm trying to pin down the locations, so I can accurately place them on our flight Sim map, of the Western Front. Once I've done that I'll be trying to do the same for the Eastern Front too.
