American Camel pilot shot down on 24.02.18

Hi All,

Is here somebody who knows something about an American Sopwith Camel pilot, who was shot down on or arround 24 February 1918?

I have a picture of a flamed Sopwith Camel unfortunately without marking or number with the following text:

Englischer Flieger abgesch. am 24.II.18 - English pilot shot down on 24 Februar 1918.

And then additional handwritten:

Das Flugzeug ist von einem Maschinengewehr abgeschossen worden und 10 Minuten von unserem Quartier aus gelandet. In Brand gesteckt hat es ein Amerikaner, welcher das Flugzeug fuhret.
- The airplane was shot down by a machinegun and landed 10 minutes away from our billet. The airplane was flamed by an American, who was flying this aircraft.

According to The Sky Their Battlefield was 2Lt. WB Randell of 4 Sqdn AFC shot down (last seen between the lines) and then POW on 24 February 1918. But was he an American? More likely an Australian isn't it?
