W.29 question

Can the Hansa W.29 be easily converted to the biplane W.12? Is it more than just a change of wings?

I was wondering that same thing! But where can you get wings up to WNW standards?

The fuselages are the same as well the tail plane and rudder , you will need to scratch new wings and the struts .

Buy two W.29s and use the wings from the second kit...

If I'm not mistaken, the W.29 has a greater span and broader cord than the W.12. Like Terri says, you'll need to scratch new wings and struts.

The empennage of the W12 was slightly different from that of the W29. Some W12 's also had a radiator mounted at the front of the upper wing.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I have looked into this for a very long time
because I also prefer the H-B W.12.
I believe that the fuselage lengths are noticeably different and possibly more.
The wings are not even close in shape to each other.

OK, you made me look:

The W.12's length shows 31' 7 7/8"
with the W.29's length at 30' 8 1/8".

Perhaps it is the shorter rudder on the W.29 that loses a foot(?).
Maybe someone with a WINDSOCK DATAFILE can check the fuselage length and shape (angles) for us.
I would like to know.

Thanks in advance, Jay aka FOKKERJ

Actually, there were two versions of the W12...one had a longer fuselage. Further, the wings are dissimilar and would require scratchbuilding. And a number of other details need modification.
