In the book section there are a presentation of a book by FW Bailey called "The French Escadrilles de Chasse War Chronology" when you use the link to amazon you get and other book (same author but different cover and name "The French Air Service War Chronology, 1914-1918: Day-To-Day Claims and Losses by French Fighter, Bomber, and Two-Seat Pilots on the Western Front")

Do you know if it is the same the book or not or do you have any extra info

Thank you

The title has mutated over time, as the book has changed. It has not been published in any form yet. It was postponed once to add new material on French Naval aviation. Then it got caught in the cash crunch at Grub Street (and numerous other British small press publishers) when the warehouse/distributor failed while owing everybody money. According to an e-mail I received from Grub Street a day ago, it is now scheduled to appear at the end of January. Their web page says it is 320 pages, with 24 pages of photos (The Jasta Chronology is 288 pages, for comparison). I have already told them to air mail it to me.

Another Grub Street book which has appeared, and is headed my way, is Norman Franks' Sharks Among Minnows, about the Fokker Eindekker and its operational use. There is supposed to be new material in here too.

Grub Street also has a history of Independent Air Force scheduled for early next year.

The book was not published, in any form, under any title, in 1999. It was intended to publish it then, but was withdrawn to add additional material. It should finally appear, for the first time, in January.

Frank.
