eduard #8019 albatros DV completed

Here is a DVa I built for a friend. Wow....it is really apparent how small the undercarriage is.. Definately would have changed the wheels and scratchbuilt the legs if I would have know.....

An older kit, had to re sand all the bulkheads to fit and the cabane struts were photo-etch.

Other than that, a nice kit.

This image it is apparent the small wheels and undercarriage legs....

just don't sit right....

Still looks very good, Mike. I think the carpet makes the struts look shorter. If you go here,
Model search result frame
you will see a buttload of Eduard D.V, all wearing the offending struts, and they look okay. So take your beautiful little gem out of the carpet and be proud.

Bud
PS-the rigging looks great!

I have two of those kits painted and awaiting rigging, since 1997
You have done this difficult original justice! Thanks for posting,

Second that Mike I have built this kit already but I ended up scratching the cockpit over 210 parts ! . Painted it blue and white stripes ! I replaced the wheels , but didn't do any thing with the land struts . The plastic can be hard to work with and you have done a very fine job indeed .

Just a small note. The aileron cables coming from the lower wing notes a D.Va. MvR flew the D.V only.

You are correct. I did not want to put the aileron P.E. parts on so I made it a D.Va, my friend won't know the difference.

Terri: Thanks! The cockpit was actually the most fun for me! Love the artist oils! The P.E. control stick is real cool, although I am looking forward to the OEFFAG kit not having to bend too much P.E.
