Breguet's Crash File Challenge #581

Welcome to Breguet's Crash File Challenge #581!

Little endangered for a disqualification, but I wanna try something unusal again.

The active time of this aircraft actually exceeded the great war time as it was flown before already and after the war too. The "crash" occured a bit later when beeing out of service.
For a full score please give the name of the designer and the circumstances of the incident.

Not curious enough, it is characterised as a one and only, but today there even exist two originals. More about later. Let's have some fun first.

The rules

All aircraft are of the 14-18 period (Must have left the ground during this period).
The score board, link and rules must be copied to the beginning of each thread, so that we know where we are. The score board and the correct answer to the challenge must also be placed at end of each thread.
All "ACES" with a score of 5.0 or higher must obey the 3.0 hour handicap. All others with a score of ZERO to 4.99 may start immediately, if not sooner! Offenders will be dealt with severely!
To be eligible for correct ID an answer must include at least one characteristic of the aircraft that helped in its identification.
And whom ever wins this challenge will have to provide a new one! If this can not be done for any reason, please PM Breguet and he will take over as host!
If an ace gives the correct answer too early, the challenge is over, he gets no point but has to post the next challenge. In lieu of the fact that the "novices" have in effect been "cheated" of their "exclusive" time that next post should be a relatively easy one. Anyone repeating the correct answer at the right time gets neither a point nor the right to post the next challenge.
The final arbitrator of all things to do with the "rules" is Breguet.

Have a good hunt!

Bleriot XI replica that was in the Kermit Weeks museum after the Hurricane came through. Identified from the wing shape, fuselage, and tail with tip elevators.

Well, not bad, but no!

The aircraft is not at home in Florida. Couldn't locate a picture of this replica that should have been built in 1967 by Herbert Troutman, If I'm right.

But this machine is not a replica. Have a closer look to the undercarriage.
It has nearly 100 years now. And nowadays it looks much better than in the picture shown.

Cheers

Morane, or Morane-Borel is more likelly, IMHO.
Regards,
Yavor

P.S. 1912. Overall proportions and undercarriage should be the clue.

Not a Morane.

The aricraft is obviously patterned after the famous Blériot XI, but its not a french aircraft.

Two Bleriots built in America by Ernest C. Hall of Warren, Ohio still exist in the Air Force Museum in Dayton and the Bradley Air Museum in Windsor Locks, Conneticut.
I don't have any information about a post-war crash though.

That's a Staaken R.IV if I've ever seen one!
(Hint: I've never seen one.)

Hi Marc,

That's what I saw first!
I thought it was that Linke-Hoffman MONSTER or something along those lines.
Maybe Noah's Ark?

Cheers, FOKKERJ

Well done!

Joachim did outrun the defence and now has the chance to shoot from the penalty area. Or will he pass once more... ?

Very close to the goal!

This is one of the Ernest Hall Blériot monos.
The question remains which one.

And the "accident" or its results are visible in the photograph. When and where was it taken.
A final hint: this was not an elephant but another unwelcomed visitor to the museum.

Cheers
