Question on Blue Nieuport 11's
OK I read somewhere (probably in Alan Toelle's article in Windsock) that some early Nieuport 11's were painted overall blue. Any ideas on the shade of blue? not sure if this was Horizon blue like the wing outlines (therefore no outlines would be seen on these aircraft) or a lighter sky blue with the horizon blue outlines. Did any famous aces fly a blue N.11? I think Guynemer may have but have no photos or profiles of a blue Nieuport to confirm serial #. Any information of any blue Nieuports flown by the Lafayette Escadrille? Did not see any profiles of these in the Windsock special. If anyone has information or photos please post!
