I have just discovered that one of the Aussies I am researching appeared in a film made by Gaumont British (GB).
Henry Worrall accompanied Alan Cobham on his African Survey flight in 1927 and a crew from GB tagged along to record this historic event.
I was speaking to Worrall's daughter and she said that she can remember her father taking her to see it. It showed a lot of Cobham but her father made the odd cameo appearence.
I have checked the web high and low and unfortunately there is not many references made to GB as far as any material surviving as British Pathe has.
Do any of the British forumites know what happened to GB and if they have some sort of archive or museum about. Harry's daughter would love to see the film again, and I wouldn't mind seeing it either.
can't guarantee anything, but if you use the search engine:
www.google.co.uk and restrict the search to web sites in the uk, there is quite a lot of stuff shown for "Gaumont British". I don't have the time to look at the moment, but I will check it all out later.
