New Photo: WHO ARE THESE JASTA PILOTS?
Hi Friends and Experts,
second on the right you see Vzfw. Fritz Beckhardt. But who are the others? The photo is private and belongs to the Beckhardt family. I guess it was shot in 1918 in Jasta 26, JG III, Kest 2 or Kest 5. Soon I will be wiser, thanx, Lorenz

Lorenz, the uniforms of the man on the far left as well as the man third from right do not look German to me. Could this possibly be a group of KEST 5 pilots with some Swiss (Guards ?) after KEST 5 flew to Switzerland at the EOW ?? R.

Kest 5 on November 13, 1918
Yes, Rick, thanx. Indeed this could be the group of four pilots Fritz Beckhardt landed with on November 13th, 1918 in Rapperswil (near Zurich).
can anybody identify the three other pilots: Gustav MICHELS, Ltn., born 17. Nov.1891 (on Albatros 9688/2618) Hans WEISBACH, Fw., born 3. May 1891 Ernst BRANTIN, Vzfw., born 13. Dec.1894... and of course Fritz BECKHARDT, Vzfw., born 27. Mar. 1889 (on S. Scht. 8356/1917) Weisbach and Brantin landed together in ONE plane (D.F.W.L., C. 7039) Heinrich DEMBOWSKI, Oltn., born 25. Jul. 1893 was the leader of Kest 5 and landed the same day near Schaffhausen., others landed at Duebendorf and Biessenhofen, among them was Franz IMMELMANN, Ltn., born 14. Sep. 1891. Was he related to THE Immelmann? Best wishes, Lorenz

Kest 5 in Switzerland
Rick, well done!
 Indeed, two soldiers on the photo are wearing swiss uniforms. Here is the confirmation of the swiss military museum in Full: "Ja, es handelt sich bei beiden auf dem Bild um Schweizer Soldaten. Der erste von links ist ein Wachtmeister der Landwehr, Infanterie Bataillon 73. Mit freundlichen Grüssen Christian Hug Schweizerisches Militärmuseum Full" (Yes, they [No. 1 and No. 4 from left, lb] are both swiss soldiers. The first on the left is a Wachtmeister of Landwehr, infantry batallion 73.) So also the identity of the three other pilots of Kest 5 is confirmed. Best wishes, Lorenz
