Question Lafayette Flying Corps question

Hello forumites,
I'm looking for information about the late Hon. Thomas F. McAllister who was a local Federal judge in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area years ago. He was very kind to me as a young boy and told me that he had been a member of the Lafayette Flying Corps. Herbert Molloy Mason, Jr.'s book confirms this (SPA.285 ??) but Dennis Gordon's work does NOT mention anything about him. What gives? Any help would be appreciated.
All the best,
Jay Stone

He is not mentioned in Wings of Honor either. This is no surprise since Nordhoff and Hall is the primary reference for the Lafayette Flying Corps. One possible explanation is that he may not have been a pilot or observer. The historical records tend to be incomplete as regards non-flying personnel. Just a guess.
