Mximall Fuel Gauges

Been slowly working my way through learning pattern making. Should be simple, but I'm not a smart as I used to think I was!

Here is one side of the case pattern on it's board, and the core box for the inside. Made a mistake on the case that set me back, but I think it came out all right.

Doing the finish work on the pattern for the base. Hopefully ready to go to the foundry late next week.

Quick update before this drifts off the board.

Took the patterns into the foundry to show the pattern maker. Said I'm doing a good job, and explained putting in the gates on the patterns so they can pour. Working on that now.

Also have found some local artists that do enameling. Will see if there is any interest in reproducing the dial faces.

Ok, finally got some pricing together for making these gauges.

Price includes working fuel gauge, base that mounts the gauge to the tank, and float. $650USD plus shipping.

If by some miracle I get more than 10 confirmed orders, the price wil start coming down. Already have 2 sold.

Vet,
how deep are the sensor units? We have an 11-7/8" deep tank.

The float travel is based on total height of 23 inches. This is the DVII tank at 16.5 inches, plus the extended base the gage mounts to.

Hi Vet,

I'm a definite for one at this stage, possibly two, but it will be a couple of weeks before I can confirm that.
