WE are in Turkey near ANZAC Cove.** I have not yet met any WWI vets but there is a slim hope that one of the two surviving Aussie Gallipolli vets will be here for ANZAC day.** I will try to find them.** If not there is a slim hope of a Turk Vet being here.** Anyway the place is crawling with a friendly bunch of Aussies and Kiwis.
** We are off to see the Battle fields tommorrow.

Cheers to all.

The two remaining Australian Gallipoli veterans will not be at Gallipoli. As they are both over 100 a trip that far would not be good for them.
As it is Roy Longmore is not well enough to attend Anzac Day services in Australia, though Alec Campbell will attend the Anzac Day services in his home town of Hobart.

It is good to hear that they will be represented by many of the younger Australians and Kiwis. Having been there myself three years ago I envy them.
Pity the politicians have to be there
