Hi everyone, I'm looking for any type of information regarding

1) the airfields of the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force - Independent Force in the Vosges and Meurthe-et-Moselle departments: Tantonville, Azelot, Xaffévillers, Rambervillers, Roville, Saint-Pierremont, Burthecourt, Frolois, Thuilley, Ochey, Juvaincourt, Vézelise, Bainville, Bettoncourt, Gircourt, as well as the Royal Flying Corps HQ in Autigny-la-Tour (Vosges),

2) the following units: 41st Wing, 83rd Wing, 85th Wing; 45, 55, 97, 99, 100, 104, 115, 155, 215, 216 Squadrons; 3rd, 6th, 12th Aircraft Depots; 8th Air Ammunition Column; 5th, 10th Reserve Lorry Parks; 3rd Aeroplane Supply Depot,

3) the types of planes used by those units, if those units were night bombing or day bombing ones,

4) the dates and targets of the raids carried out by those units.

All this concerns the period 1st January to 11th November, 1918 and the Vosges-Alsace sector of the western front.

Thanks a lot in advance.
Eric Mansuy, France.

I am not aware of 155 Sqn being sent to France for combat? The unit was assigned DH9a and formed on Sept 14, 1918 from a number of other units according to DH4/DH9 FILE.

Sources :

DH4/DH9 FILE by Ray Sturtivant and Gordon Page.

Bloody April Black September by Franks, Guest and Bailey.

Note: 45 RAF returned from Italy at end of September 1918 and flew for the IAF operations in October. They flew Camels but they were also waiting for development of a longer range version of the Snipe for escort duties.
