Hi there,

For some time now I'm very interested in everything about medals. Especially those from WW1. I have a small collection at home right now, but I sometimes have a problem.
I'd like to have some more information about the medals I have at home (most of them from Belgium and America) and also about other medals.
The first thing you do is try to find some info on the Internet. This site has helped me a lot but then this question came into my head: " I wonder if there are books (documentary) about medals?"
And still I haven't found the answer to that question.
So, what I like to know is if there's anybody who can tell me if there are such books and if so, where can I get those? I don't know if every country itself has got such books, but any information about this is welcome.
I hope to hear from you soon,

Willem

Welcome to the wonderful world of medals! I'm a fairly new collector also. My interests are Austro-Hungarian medals but I'm interested in all of them. Lately I've been looking at Belgian medals and thinking about expanding my collection.

There are a lot of internet sites devoted to medal collection. Here's one of my favorites: http://raven.cc.ukans.edu/~kansite/ww_one/...medalshome.html . The Delphi forum has been very helpful.

I just put up some book reviews (including two books on WWI medals) at our RB3D squad page ( http://www.crosswinds.net/~uhlan/flik61j.html ). You may find them of use.

Try this one :
The Distinguished Service Cross 1901-1938 by W H Fevyer. Good documentary on the award, and those who were awarded the medal between those years.

Vernon's Collectors' Guide to Orders, Medals and Decorations by Sydney B. Vernon. This is a reference book much used by dealers in medals.
