Luke Restoration update

The letter I wrote Coolonel Goldfein, Commander 1FW, at Langley AFB got me an e-mail from LTC Brian Dickerson, commander 27th Fighteer Squadron (Luke's old squadron) to the effect that he would like to participate in the Murvaux dedication, but no flyover, which come from a base in Europe, possibly the 48th Fighter at Lakenheath in England. He might be able to send a pilot, but he is having funds shortages.
The Bureau Chief of the AF Times is going to do a story on our project. I expect to see him in San Antone, first week of October, when I go there for a ship's reunion. EOM 09/25/00

Very good, Billy. Sounds cool. And speaking of updates, I've sent the first $1,000 in donations to the American Battle Monuments Commission in Paris to confirm the order for the plaque. It will be interesting to see who shows up for this, huh? I hope you're writing your speech! You know, I need to make a separate post on this. Our fundraising has dropped off a bit. More details to follow.

Steve: Can you e-mail Lillian Pfluke in Paris to contact the VFW post in Paris, to try for their participation. And the American Legion Post. She said her hubby had been the American air attache (until his recent rretireement). Could she contact the that office and ask for reps?
