How generally accepted is it that Aleksandr Kozakov committed suicide? Is this belief controversial?

He died in a plane crash. Without access to his thought processes, it is unclear whether the crash was intentional or accidental.

He was bidding goodbye to his squadron, and putting on a flying demonstration with a Sopwith Camel. He lost it in a spin and went into the ground. Agreed, I don't know his thought process, but I, for one, do not think he committed suicide. The person to ask is Augie Blume, as he is in the process of writing a book on the entire Eastern Front operations, including the post-1917 revolutions.

Kozakov had been badly wounded 7 months earlier and had turned down a posting to England. Considering at that time it was obvious the Bolsheviks were winning he must have wondered at his future in Russia. British officers commented that he was depressed and gloomy and that he never attempted to gain altitude before going straight up, stalling and crashing. Still I'm sure we will never know for sure since I have never heard of any definitive proof....i.e. a suicide note. Still quite a pilot !
