Howdy all!
* * *It's been a while since I have had the time to peruse this great sight. *I recently arrived back in CONUS and decided to reacquaint myself with some long over do reading. *(When the Misses and the Boy give me the chance that is.) *Long story short, I was reading an interview given by Bert Hall (of N-124 fame) in 1949 and something caught my eye; in this interview he claims to have met Boelcke in an “early type single place Fokker, painted all black with white crosses.” He mentions this “meeting” again in both ''En L' air!' Three Years On And Above Three Fronts” and “One Mans War”, although the circumstances are slightly different each time.
* * I am well aware of Mr. Hall’s reputation and exploits (perceived and real) both before and after the war. *I was just curious as to whether or not there are any hard fact that these two particular individuals ever met in the air. *I know N-124 and Jasta 2 shared the same AO for a time so I’m sure it was possible. *Does anyone have any FACTS? *If the all black Eindekker is legit, whom did it belong to? *Certainly not Boelcke. *Maybe Dan San can help with that part.
* * Oh well back to the “Honey Do” list. Semper Fi!!
