Apologies to all who have discussed this game before but I have just got it - I live in an out of the way place. I wonder if contributers here would list any historical inaccuracies they find in the game-anything from performance of aircraft to...

Too many historical problems to list here, so go to www.wingsofhonor.com to pick up a bunch of patches which improve flight models, damage models, better historical representation, new aircraft, new terrain etc. Also, pick up the patch that converts RB2 to RB3D - it's well worth the download time.

Check out the Delphi flight sim forum, and visit my web site - www.jasta79b.future.easyspace.com - for some historically accurate paint schemes!

Cheers,

Vince

Be warned: When you do upgrade, just because you were a RBII Ace doesn't mean you'll be able to get the @$@# plane off the ground in RB3D...
Lots more realistic, though!

About the only one that really annoyed me was the 6500 height limit in the campaign. But that was a gameplay choice by Dynamix, increasing the density of aircraft in an area so there were more combats. Most other shortcomings were gameplay choices by Dynamix. Other than an enthusiast of the period they wouldnt be picked up and overly noticed.

There were a plethora of patches which modified the game in some way, from squadrons and services, to personalities to flight models and damage models. So you can make RBII in to pretty much what you think a WWI flight sim should be by picking and choosing between the patches. Or even making your own patch or modifying an existing patch.

For my part, myself and Steve Belanger did a patch called Flanders Fields, it added the AFC, MFJ's and Belgians to the game. Still the best campaign around and the only one I know of that adds personalities to the game. Apart from Mig Alley no other game has really come close in the last three years. Looking forward to Rowans next take on the WWI Flight Sim genre. Fingers Xed they do it.

I have noticed in RB2 the sopwith camel seem to turn better to the left, than the right, this is the opposite of what should happen.
but Im not sure if it is just me joystick or thats the game.

I noticed that the RFC Nie17 has an on cowling mounted vickers. By order all RFC Nieuports are to have over wing foster mounts with Lewis guns.

Dwight,
There is no way the game can distinguish from a RFC or a French Nie 17 for placement of the gun, unless a patch is done to make it so.
your correct, in a RFC campaign, the vickers is wrong.

seasons greetings from overseas!

Though the flight model improved in RB3D, it seems like (I may be wrong here) they replaced the standard single Lewis gun (also used in RBII) with a double Lewis. I know Hawker had a set up like that... but wasn't 1 gun standard issue?

Hi
This excellent patch is the only one I use. However, there is something strange about Jasta 36. It has a Fokker Dr.I paint scheme, but it's never used in the game! What's wrong?
