Howdy. I finally found the $60 and bought this book from Amazon POD. Have been meaning to get it since it appeared from AERONAUT BOOKS. The book is excellent and probably the best source of GAF history of -
IDFLIEG 1910-1918, The Establishment and Expansion of the German Air Force. The author is Michael Dusing and contains 369 pages 8.5 x 11", with profuse photos, illustrations, branch drawings, etc.
The most important text for me are the 95 pages of Appendices. These contain all the salient data most are looking for. Aircraft batch serial numbers, types and quantities, units established when to armistice., etc. History and dates of all branches and units. The running organizational history text is probably the best set forth to date, although a lot of it is in pieces in other publications over the years. So that was not particularly new to me.
But the tidbit is it's all in one place herein. So, this is doubtless the best and most complete new organizational history of the GW GAF available today.
Bear in mind this is the structural organizational history, not the daily combat operational history we are discussing here. So no aircraft markings art or sideviews etc. See the AERONAUT BOOKS website for further details and prices. Cheers, FM
