Charles S. Randall, MM

Charles Sydney Randall, MM

Hoping to get some help from our British friends (or Anglophiles) to find more info on Charles Sydney Randall, MM. I am seeking the nature of his Military Medal. Was it awarded for actions as an artillery soldier? If so, what was the action? When he transferred to the RFC, what unit did he transfer to, or units did he serve with?

Here is what I have found so far. Any pictures or any citation, unit info would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

You'll be lucky to find a citation for the award of the MM.

Most were simply gazetted, as here, under a generic term like: "for bravery in the field".

There might be more details in the War Diary of the unit in which he was serving. Or there might not. Many just state that a soldier had been awarded a given medal with no further details. Some do not mention it at all.

Thanks Ned. I had much of the same from the Archives. I am hoping to find a picture of him or some article related to his MM or some pic of him from his RAF time. He also had a General Service Medal from WWII, but not engraved. Below is his group. Thanks for checking on it.
