Spad X.III of the 103rd Aero Squadron - HELP!
I need your help!
This fuzzy photo shows a Spad X.III of the 103rd Aero Squadron. The aerodrome is most likely Issoudun because of the design of the building seen through the left wings. We know it was made by Bleriot because of the camouflage pattern shown around the insignia on the left side of the fuselage. The writing along the top "The 94th" would suggest the 94th Aero Squadron but that is incorrect, it's clearly a 103rd Aero insignia. The writing along the bottom is difficult to read. This photo appeard on ebay in 2020. I'm hoping someone bought it and would be willing to share a higher-resolution version. Charley Last edited by charles; 18 September 2025 at 06:05 AM. The caption below the photo is a bad spelling of Lafayette.
The caption above the picture is probably referring to the photo above the one in shot and thus we can't see it. |
