The Camel in the Royal Army 's Brussels museum was restored with all new fabric some 35 or so years ago ....
B 5747 was built by Clayton & Shuttleworth , of Lincoln . ( or so I understand) ,...and it is in the small photo that you show the actually Cla...& Sh..th . Company marking .
B 5747 originally had no recorded history with it , when received in 1922, but carried on its original wartime fabric ,...the White Thistle marking of 9e Escadrille ................( whether this was original or not is not confirmed ) .
When latterly restored (above) , the new fabric now carried the " Cocotte " insignia of 11e Escadrille .................so not original .
There was recently a book published , by a forum member I think ? ( unfortunately I don't recall his Forum Handle ...? ..Rosen...? ), ... on Belgium aircraft in WWI ....entitled ;-
" The Belgium Air Service in the First World War "
and / or
" Above Flanders Fields .. A complete history of the Belgium Air Service "
aeronaut books ,.... written by Walter Pieters ..loads of photos etc.
I don't have either myself ,..so cannot comment .
The full motto originated in Scottish heraldry :-
Nemo me impune lacessit
