Priesel gun ring

Hello,

anyone can elaborate this statement? I believe it refers to the mount of the MG of the observer. What is it, in detail? Was a "fresh" introduction in may 1918?

CIT: The Priesel gun ring became a standard production installation starting with the Phonix C.I 121.11

Found on Flying machine we site.
