Arrow A nice collection from the IWM...

.
While strolling through the internet I found a very interseting series of 95 photos on the website of the Imperial War Museum. Of course it is aviation related, but also contains numerous photos of the daily life of a German soldier during the Great War.

This is the collection of Ernst Ringer:

The Death Head Hussar (Rgt. No. 17, Brunswiek) is Oblt. Hans Achim von GRONE.

Was looking through the pages and saw him and thought how remarkable he looked. Great to have a name to the face. These are some amazing photographs.

Thanks for posting this interesting collection. But who was Ernst Ringer? A WWI veteran?

I think he was a veteran of the Great War, although I don't know it exactly. Isn't it common practice to name a (photo) collection after the person who made/collected the photos?
