Offiziersstellvertreter A. Kilkowski

Hello,
I am looking for information about Offz.stv. A. Kilkowski. A pilot with EK 1. Klasse and 2. Klasse. Any hints. Thanks.

Best Regards

That's a really great photo. I think you have one too many S's in your rank though.

Sorry Vince, we really write Offiziersstellvertreter with 2 x "s" in German language.

I think that in the past there was no consensus on the spelling either.

Sorry, but I don't know about the spelling reform of 1914

Hello Tobi,

Here is an excerpt from the entry of a Kriegsstammrolle.

It is written by a soldier. It is unlikely that a soldier will make a mistake in spelling a rank. Because as a soldier, the first thing you learn is to distinguish between the different military service ranks and, of course, how to spell them correctly!

Regards

Rainer

Rainer,
then we record for posterity that the Offizier-Stellvertreter and the Offiziersstellvertreter are two different ranks.

"Eventuell war der Strich s ersetzend, damals halt!"
