Nieuport 17/17Bis undercarriage
Just an enquiry about the Nieuport's undercarriage - does anyone know if the axle was split and hinged to allow the wheels to adopt a degree of negative camber to each other (eg like a Sopwith Camel) - or was the axle solid so that both wheels always remained parallel to each other in the vertical axis?
I note that every drawing appears to show a solid axle, but then they do for Sopwith Camels as well!
