Jasta Boelcke Jacket
Here is a quick shot of one of two flying jackets of Leutnant Robert Strey of Jasta 'B', who had earlier scored a couple of victories with Jasta 25 in Macedonia. We often see fake or questionable jackets, this one came from the family many years ago, and has a tailor's label inside the inside pocket identifying the wearer and unit. It is a typical Kraftfahrtruppen issue which has been upgraded with Prussian officer's buttons and a beaver skin collar.

Great looking piece, what else did you get from the family?

I have two flying helmets, a wooden model of a BF110, a couple of photos, some paperwork as well as some of his decorations, including the EK1 awarded for the victories in Macedonia.

Hello VtwinVince,
Here is a photo of Robert Strey seated on a Fokker Dr.I of Jasta Boelcke, courtesy of Tobias Weber. I believe it's the same jacket! What an amazing artifact you have. If you could post some of the rest of the memorabilia from Strey, we would appreciate it.

Thanks for the feedback gentlemen, I will dig out my material and make some photos. Greg, I have a copy of this photo, and have often wondered if that is Strey's personal DR1 or someone else's. The jacket was obviously modified over time.

More material from Strey, not sure where the model 110 came from.
