Seaplane Carrier - IJN Wakamiya

The Imperial Japanese Navy ship Wakamiya was a very early seaplane tender, the first and only such vessel used by the Japanese during World War 1. It is significant in that it performed the very first naval launched air raids by heavier than air craft, during the Siege of Tsingtao, and was instrumental in the development of carrier operations.
