Swiss Aviator Emil Louis Gassler

GASSLER Emil, Louis
Born 10. August 1888
Swiss Brevet No. 29 / F.A.I. 350
  • 1912 - 1914: Eastbourne Aviation Company in United Kingdom
  • 1915 - 1916: Test-pilot and flight instructor at Berlin-Johannisthal with L.V.G.
  • 1916 – 1917: Märkische Flugzeugwerft, Golm – employed in the construction-department.

Gassler is hardly known in Switzerland - there is not a single small article in an old newspaper, for example. I got some material about his time in UK with Eastbourne Aviation Co. and some "thin" information about the time in Germany.
Practically nothing about the time when he was back in Switzerland...

I admit, he was probably not the most impotant aviator of his time... but I became curious about him and am trying now to collect as much information as possible.

Therefore the question "out into the blue": Would somebody have any information about Emil Gassler which could be shared with me?

Many thanks in advance
Kuno

In the meantime I have concluded the research about Gassler. There are still big gaps in his biography but I must also admit that it was impressive, what could still be found in Archives, here in particular the "Civil Registry Offices" in Switzerland. There may still be more information "burried" somewhere but I had to make a balance between "Expected effort" and "expected result" and therefore decided to stay with the gaps as they are. Now finalizing layout of the little booklet I am giong to publish about him and then concentrating on other topics again.
