When did Murlis-Green join 17 Squadron?

I understand that Gilbert Murlis-Green claimed his first victory with 17 Sqn in December 1916, but understand that he joined the unit in October 1916. Can anyone please confirm his actual date of joining the Sqn, please?

A second question... He was a flying instructor at Doncaster prior to 17 Sqn. Was that unit 15 RS, and was his tenure May to August 1916? That's what I have in my notes, but I recognise that this leaves a two-month gap between Doncaster and Salonika, which doesn't sound right.

Final question for bonus points, has anyone managed to establish Murlis-Green's (post 1 Aug 19) RAF number, as opposed to his Army number?

Thanks
Steve
