Another E-series fighter…
.
… of the Great War was the Siemens-Schuckert E-series E.I – E.IV. The design surely was influenced by the Fokker E-series, but when these machines were ready for service, the monoplane concept of 1916 – as produced by Fokker and Pfalz – had become obsolete. In comparison with the both already mentioned other monoplanes the Siemens-Schuckert was carefulls designed and looked more streamlined. The most important difference may have been that the Siemens engineers decided to give the aircraft a conventional tailplane (a separately hinged rudder/elevator) and this surely would have made the aircraft easier to fly.
