Arrow Another strange German machine…

… definitely was the Siemens-Schuckert DDr.I of late 1917. Maybe this rather unusual design was the first fighter with a combined tractor and pusher engine configuration.

Seen from an aerodynamic point of view, the machine was a mess, but the engineers seem to have expected that the combined power of the two rotary engine would eliminate this disadvantage.

That is one weird looking aircraft Volker!
It sure does not "Look Right" which mostly meant it wasn't!
