Volker_Nemsch Forum Ace of Aces Join Date: Feb 2000 Location: Germany Posts: 4,654	Another (guess what)… . …often forgotten aircraft is the German Pfalz D.VII / Pfalz D.VIII of 1918. After the first fighter competition in February 1918 a contract was signed (serial number 100/18 to 219/18) to produce 120 machines of the Pfalz D.VIII, since the two-bays version of this fighter offered more structural stability during dogfights. The Pfalz D.VII showed a slightly better performance, but the more robust machine was chosen.
