Hey all, I've lurked around here on and off for years, finally got off my butt and signed up. Love the site and the info !! I'm a long time modeler.. lets just say 52 years of playing with plastic ...
I recently picked up the Merit 1/24th scale Fokker Dr1 and and although I've long been a fan of the Triplane I find I still have much to learn.
Questions; The 4 rectangular patches on the bottom of the upper wing and the one on the top center section... access panels/ patches for the aileron controls ?
Were they clear panels like the SE-5's ?
Did all Dr1's have them ? ... I've searched all the books I have and photo's I can find on line and only a fleeting few show this feature.
The 'bumps/ bumpers' on the wings leading edges... what were they for and were they only on the outboard ends of the wings ? ( I must admit how shocked I was when I read something about this feature on a build thread and went looking... I've seen so many pictures of triplanes over the years and never noticed this !

)
Thanks for any help !!
