SE-5 and Lewis Gun

I used to log a fair amount of hangar time in Doug Champlin's superb reproduction SE-5 but it's been so long that I've lost track of the details. I'd guess that the bore of the gun was about 2 feet above the optical sight, a figure that seems approximately correct when measuring scale drawings.

Anybody have a hard figure? Always wondered where the Lewis was zeroed ("harmonised") in relation to the Aldis sight for the Vickers.

I wonder if there was any option to deviate from whatever the standard 'harmonization' distance was.

For instance could McCudden, say, tweak it so that the bullet streams crossed at a much closer distance than the standard.

I'm pretty sure it 'could' be done, I just wonder if he would get an 'Article 15' if the wrong staff wallah found out about it.
