Jasta 2 planes ?

A colonel who was in command of the 3 Marine Infanterie Regiment made this photo in France during a visit to Jasta Boelcke.

Is this correct ?

Can anyone tell me more about who's planes can be seen ?

Thanks

Johan

Arrow It would make some sense...

.
... if the letters (and markings) I could read are correct.

Ltn. Collin is not mentioned as a Jasta 2 member before early December 1916 and so my guess would be as follows:

Co --- Ltn. Dieter Collin
W --- Ltn. Hans Wortmann
S --- Ltn. Jürgen Sandel
B --- Ltn. Otto Böhme
.

Hi!
Really interesting photo. Some questions from me:
- did the aircraft of Collin was the same of the Prince that was captured with skull & crossbones insignia?
- this aircraft, an Albatros D.I, was depicted in color profiles as light green or grey. In this photo the a/c seems dark, and it's the only one with the white outline to the letters...suggestions?
Thank you!
Roberto

Arrow Some other...

.
"...and it's the only one with the white outline to the letters...suggestions?"

... Jasta 2 pilots also seem to have "slightly differing" markings.

Ltn. Karl Büttner (POW, 16.11.1916) had his "" marking entirely in white.

Ltn. Wolfgang Günther (sent to FA(A)205 in Dec. 1916) had his "G" marking in black and outlined in white.

Kind regards,

Michael

Good afternoon Volker,
thanks for your answer.

Good afternoon Johan,
what a fascinating photo !!!!!
I believe that Erwin Böhme is the top-scoring Albatros D.I pilot but I never saw a photo of this very plane.
Thanks for sharing.

Michael
