Question Aeg b.iii

A little confusion on this aircraft. Most of the information that I have collected on this aircraft indicate that it was only built in prototype form and not released for production. This indicates only one machine or possibly two machines were built. Yet in most websites visited they claim that it was built in very limited numbers. Indicating that it might be more than the 1 or two machines previously mentioned. A check of the serials didn't even reveal a prototype and RMF claims the delivery of a single machine early in 1915. Does anybody have any production details on this aircraft?

Arrow As far as...

.
... I can say only one AEG B.III was ever built. The performance of this machine was inferior when compared with the AEG B.II, even when using a 160 hp engine (the B.II had 120 or 150 hp engines). After some modifications, the performance increased.

But the machine was developed, when the armed "C-class" aircraft (armed 2-seater biplanes) were needed along the trenches and so the already successful AEG B.II became the basis for the AEG C.I.

Thanks Volker,
This makes a lot of sense with the information that I have collected. I was having that moment of doubt when I ran into a couple of sources stating "built in limited numbers." I suspect that the back-up source for this might be Wikipedia which has provided left turns in the past. I have gone through several publications here at home and can find no reference to a B.III. Funny to because after limited runs of the C.I and C.II, AEG was also stopped after a single C.III prototype before going all in with a significant C.IV run. Maybe III was just a bad luck number.
