So I've had interest in military aviation of WW1 and WW2 all my life. WW1 was one war that honestly both terrified me and fascinated me on a personal level, especially the aviation of WW1 ever since I played video games like the Red Baron (Microprose, 1990. A game I'm sure everyone here has played) that left one burning question in my mind: Did any pilot who enlisted in the early part of the war, or was in an active aviation unit, serve the entire war and survive?
I've been wanting to ask this question for decades, since I've seen that many of the aces of the early part of the conflict like
Oswald Boelcke and
Lanoe Hawker all died roughly around 1916, with many of the aces who survived the war entering service sometime after this or in 1917.
