Hello Gentleman, I currently attempting to count the WW1 RF C / RAD service of F.O. 2/Lieut. George Henry MacKay, who was seriously WIA on 18 August 1917, while flying an A/W GR8 with the RFC's No. 35 Squadron. MacKay was an American from Boston, Massachusetts & after numerous terms of service in the Mass. State Guard & Militia, he volunteered for the RFC. ( He listed his D.O.B. as 1892, so as to appear younger, though his correct date was 1887. ) He was trained at Camp Borden ( Canadian No. 8 Training Sqdn. ) & was involved in an flying accident with a Curtiss JN4, in which he suffered facial injuries. Although I've been somewhat fortunate in researching him so far, I haven't been able to find anything referring to his service within the RFC's No. 35 Squadron during his time in the Western Front. I know he was discharged on 15 November 1918 due to being found, 'unfit for further service in RAF'. If anyone has ANY information pertaining to either Lt. MacKay, & or No. 35 Squadron's operations / personnel rosters, etc., I will be deeply appreciative to hear from them. THANK YOU
Best regards,
