Events of 29 April 1916
I searched the Forum to no avail (perhaps I missed something?) Does anyone with access to the RFC Bulletins have any thoughts or details on the event described here, from the diary I am transcribing and annotating of a Canadian infantryman on the Ypres salient. This from April 29, 1916:
"Slept 6 am to 1 pm while the town was being bombed and shelled. Three German planes chased one of ours, riddled its petrol tank, killed observer, and wounded pilot in leg. But pilot landed safely 2 miles west-southwest of here. Goodwin was out to Division Headquarters for phones and wire this morning and saw the plane. It mounted 3 machine guns."
As always, with thanks,
GB
