NIVO Substitute

Gentlemen,

Has anyone found a Poly Fiber color or mix that can be used, or is close, for NIVO?

Or..a paint that will layover a Poly Tone finish.

Cheers

Ed

Nivo,

Yes, NIVO is Night Invis. Var. Off. There is a mass of various historical discussions on this site, but nothing that I have found to answer the question of available colors from the Poly Fiber clan.
They have to mix your gallon (minimum) and you get charged for all the research
paint as well. Becomes expensive for a 2'x6' area
NIVO is Federal Standard #34096 (a green family color) which is R-97,G-99,B-82.
And while we at it, have you ever heard of a wire roller? I am guessing it is used to roll Poly-paint but not allow air bubbles. I should add that this procedure should be done at 50-55^F. That allows flow out. The cold may allow brush work as well. Thanks.

I have never seen a "wire roller sleeve" for applying paint. Could you post a picture or info on it, please.

Poly-Fiber is not made for rolling or brushing, not saying one cannot do it, I did. Used roll & tipping method.

As far as the NIVO color, if you have a sample chip of the color why not go to a paint supply house, HD, Lowes, Auto supply, Auto Repair shop, etc. and see if they can mix a small amount for you.

I am assuming its for an R/C Model by the area you need to paint?
