When did Voss develop the flat half-turn?

McCudden and others remarked that Werner Voss surprised them with a flat half-turn (aka a flat half-spin). When did Voss develop that maneuver?

My thought is that he likely did it at the Fokker factory in late August, but there is the chance that he did it while at Jasta 10 in early September.

Anyone know?

Thank you, but that tells me how, not when. Given the description by McCudden, I think Voss used the rotary engine's gyroscopic forces to whip the Triplane into a flat half-turn. But when and where did he learn this maneuver? August 1917 at Schwerin? September 1917 at Jasta 10?
