No work was possible on the fronts of the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Brigades.
Capt Mackay, 4 Sqn, completed a successful artillery patrol in low clouds and frequent drizzle. He located and reported by zone call six active hostile batteries, one of which was silenced. A party of 30 infantry was located and dispersed by accurate gun fire opened within six minutes.
Three machines of 2 Sqn, during the night of the 9th/10th, carried out bombing raids. One returned owing to low clouds. One dropped two 112-pound bombs on Salome and Billy respectively, wrecking houses. The third pilot, 2nd Lt C G H Wadleigh, lost his way in the low clouds, but eventually came within sight of the sea where the sky was clear. He recognised that he was over Ostend and dropped two 112-pound bombs, observing the bursts on factories near the canal. He subsequently landed at Dunkirk.
