Question Upward firing guns on Sopwith "Comic" model Aircraft

Good Morning All!

I am interested to know if anyone has information on the upward firing guns fitted to the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter & Camel Comic models?

Could the pilot change the magazines on the Lewis Guns in flight?
I do not think it would be possible but sought knowledge from someone who may know.
