Alfredo Barbieri - Fokker vs Caproni

Hello,

I could get little info from this 2005 thread:

http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/sh...light=barbieri

Maybe someone have something to add? I am interested in the last mission flown by Alfredo Barbieri, died February 18, 1916.

A flight of 10 Caproni bombers was intercepted over Lubjana by austro-hungarian Fokker monoplanes. No idea of how many bombers were shot down, but for sure some italian was killed, along with Barbieri.

The mission resulted in Italy holding for a while long range bombing mission over enemy territory.

Thanks!
