Following on from my earlier post, the claims I've got for 1915, prior to the RFC Communiques being produced, are:

22 January 1915:

Capt F V Holt or Lt R P Mills, 4 Sqn, Albatros crashed at Dunkirk - Ltn Andre Hug & Ltn Bremer, BAO

5 February 1915:

2nd Lt V N H Wadham & Lt A E Borton, 3 Sqn, Aviatik C forced to land at Merville

17 April 1915:

Capt R M Vaughan & Lt J F Lascelles, 4 Sqn, Aviatik C captured near Elverdinghe at 06:30 - OffStllv Wilhelm Wohlmacher (Kia) & Ltn Joseph Seeboth (Pow), FFA 40 [?]

3 May 1915:

Lt E G S Walker & Lt C F O Master, 16 Sqn, Albatros forced to land east of Orchies at 07:30; Master was wounded by ground fire in this encounter

9 May 1915:

Lt S Graham-Gilmour & 1/AM H W Sutcliffe, 5 Sqn, Albatros crashed east of Wytschaete at 17:30 - OffStllv Karl Wipperfurth (Kia) & Hpt Hermann Thumm (Kia), FFA 3 [?]

10 May 1915:

Lt W H D Acland & 1/AM Rogers, 5 Sqn, Albatros out of control ? over Lille at 10:45 - Uffz Constantin von Schaubert (Kia) & Ltn Walter Brandt (Kia), FFA24 [?]

26 May 1915:

2nd Lt R M Pike & 2nd Lt R V de Halpert, 5 Sqn, Aviatik C crashed ? Kerselaarhoek at 05:30 - Gerhard Nette (Kia) & Oblt Busso von Bulow (Kia), FA 12 [?]

29 May 1915:

Lt W H D Acland & 1/AM H W Sutcliffe, 5 Sqn, Aviatik C crashed in Polygon Wood at 17:35

6 June 1915:

2nd Lt C H Barfield & Cpl Fineran, 5 Sqn, enemy machine out of control over Polygon Wood at 17:15

7 June 1915:

Flt Sub-Lt R A J Warneford, 1 Wing RNAS, Zeppelin LZ37 in flames near Ostende at 14:30

9 June 1915:

Lt S Graham-Gilmour + 1/AM H W Sutcliffe, 5 sqn, enemy machine crashed east of Wytschaete

20 June 1915:

Lt L G Hawker, 6 Sqn, DFW C out of control south-east of Poelcapelle at 19:45

5 July 1915:

Capt D E Stoddart + 2nd Lt M S Stewart, 1 Sqn, Fokker out of control between Belleghem and Rolleghem at 04:30

By my reckoning, that makes 18 claims since the start of hostilities.

From here on, much of what is in my database is reflected by an entry in an appropriate Communique, so supporting details can often be quoted.

To bring my posts up to a proper "100 years ago today" will require a bit of posting, since there's about another 240 claims.

If anyone's still interested, I'll get cracking.

Hi Graeme

Great stuff - anyone without blinkers has to appreciate your efforts.

Pity you & I can't charge by the hour! But we do it for the love of it.

Cheers Russ

Charging by the hour, eh? Sounds good, but people might get the wrong idea!

I'll be knocking together a few posts today, catching up on 1915 and 1916, then more "100 years ago today", starting with 27 July 1916.

Cheers

Hi Graeme

One thing mate, you & I are not in it for the money, so people can be assured we are not trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes.

Cheers Russ

Hi Russ

"not in it for the money" - ain't that the truth! Must have cost me a small fortune over the years in travel, photocopying etc.

If research was a woman, I'd say I was in love with her!

Cheers

26 may 1915 the FFA 12 crew was most likely downed by an MS 12 crew as mentioned in the FASWC. The crew was buried at Braisne-Soissons which is in the sector of the French 5th army of which MS 12 was attached to. I also google searched for Braisne and it is to the East of Sossions.
